Khus is a densely tufted grass that grows up to 1.5 meters with long, thin, and rigid leaves. It has been distributed in the plains and lower hills of India. It is also used for preparing flavored sharbat, and making mats, hand fans. This plant is grown in the South Indian states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh.
